Juan Carlos Castro Loría

Partner Juan Carlos Castro Loría holds a JD and Masters in (L.L.M) Public Policy Law and has Ph.D. studies in Administrative Law.

He has held various positions within the Costa Rican Court System including: Secretary to the Constitutional Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice, Law Clerk to the President of the Supreme Court of Justice, Judge for the Administrative Contentious and Civil Courts, Judge and Superior Court Judge for the Administrative Contentious Court of the Second Judicial Circuit.

In addition to founding the Costa Rican Association of Constitutional Law, he has served as a consultant to the European Economic Community and an expert litigator in his area of expertise. He is a certified arbitrator for the Latin-American Centre for Business Arbitration (Centro latinoamericano para arbitraje empresarial - CLAE), the International Centre of Conciliation and Arbitration (Centro Internacional de Conciliación y Arbitraje CICA) and of the Center for Conciliation and Arbitration of the Costa Rican Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Argentinean Association of Administrative Law and the Inter-American Federation of Lawyers (FIA).
